A year ago, I was part of the first generation of Pop Up Business school in England. We learned about Social media and Twitter was totally unknown to me. How my life has changed in the way you can connect to people! I have learned a lot about myself since then and today I am very happy to have reached another milestone: 600 followers! Now I don't feel like the only Guatemalan that has immigrated to a completely different culture in Europe. I have found lots of people that share same interests, passions and life vision; they might share your passion for travelling, maybe want to learn new recepies or just want to get together and talk business. Social media really is a better way to connect with people! Now I am happy to help others set up their websites and twitter accounts and do business and networking together. I invite you to join the twitter revolution and start connecting with amazing people in our world, because it truly is smaller than we think If you have any questions about it, please drop me a line and I will be more than happy to help you discover twitter! |

As many of you know, I came to England in 2009 and decided to change my work from machines to people. Now, I have a great oportunity to work with AGE UK and the BME communities in #Somerset. Being part of a minority, I know what it means to feel isolated and culture shock. I have been very lucky to have made great British friends that have showed me the ways in England. For that I will be eternally grateful. Now I have the amazing opportunity to go out into Somerset to find isolated people to mentor them and help them integrate in the community: from basic information (health, education, community, eating healthy and exercising) to refer them to professionals that can help. If you know anybody that might be isolated in Portishead, Nailsea, Clevedon, Yatton, Congresbury, Wsm or anywhere in Somerset, please let them know I am looking for them. "Age UK Somerset promotes the well-being of all older people in Somerset and North Somerset to make later life an enjoyable and fulfilling experience" Please share this post with your friends and family because this is a great of networking. I was impressed to see that there is a 6% of people between 55-64 years old using Facebook in England. (Acording to Facebook UK Statistics) so I am being hopeful they will come forward with contacts for me ;) Thank you very much for your help This is your last chance to vote for the most beautiful ruins in Mesoamerica. #Tikal is the city of echoes and it deserves international recognition. The Mayans were a great civilization, they were the best engineers in the world (invented the aqueducts, calculated the most accurate solar calendar and studied astronomy in #Guatemala) Why should you vote for Tikal? Because it is is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centres of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization and it stands tall and proud today! Help Guatemala be famous and give us your vote before September 30th. 8th #WonderOfTheWorld at http://www.virtualtourist.com/8thwonder @VirtualTourist_ Less than 10 weeks ago, I didn't know anything about Twitter. I was very lucky to go to Pop Up Business school in Weston super mare and Alan Donegan and Simon Paine thought us all about social media. I set up my twitter account on the 5/10/12 and by 14/12/12 I had 300 followers! I have engaged with people from Weston super mare, Guatemala and all over the world and it's been amazing!!! Thank you for your support, I feel truly blessed!!! |
